OMG #2

Guess what this post is about. I had an accident a few days back! This is just a short post lar, nothing much to write about, just want to make sure I remember this event as a lesson, that's all.

It happened because of negligence. So, that day I was on the way back from KL, around the time when everyone rushing back from work. I was stuck in the jam and had nothing to do. The Federal Highway was so congested that cars were crawling at less than 10km/h. I couldn't stand the boredom and decided to switch on my data. Switching my gear to N, I shifted my eye-sight from the road to my phone and thought everything was just like a normal jam. While I was so engrossed replying some Twitter posts, I "sensed" some movements and switched my gear to D (without lifting my sight from the phone to see how far the car in front of me had moved) and...

"Paaaaaanng"...

As soon as I realized what happened, the car in front of me turned on the emergency signals, and the driver (who was a "Malay She") got down from the car (A Viva). I wasn't sure what to do, so I got down from the car as well. I walked over to the part where my bonnet "kissed" and ahem.. It was quite a serious dent (roughly an one-inch-depth kind of dent). She quickly snapped some photos and started calling someone. Then only I came to my senses that I should call someone too, my dad. She was already nearly done describing the entire incident to the receiver over the phone yet I was still on my attempts to call my dad! Argh.. Why was he not picking up the phone? I was starting to get nervous yet what was he doing lar?

Finally, after more than 10 attempts, my dad picked up! He asked me the damaged I've caused, both to that car and mine. Then did I realize, "Eee, how come the first thing I did was walking over to her car and not care about my own bonnet ar?" Luckily, my bonnet just had some slight bend, my number plat is still there, and the fortunate part is, the lights are not broken! According to my dad, around RM500-600 is needed to fix a broken car-lamp. So ya, both our lamps are still intact!

She then suggested to move the cars from the road, I mean, at least not to the extend to block other people's way. We were on the fast lane, so we stopped our car as sideway-to-the right as possible (but still blocked half of the fast lane lar). She told me that she wants a compensation of RM500 for the boot and RM90 for the bumper (eh, the bumper was still nice lor, zzzz). When I said I only had RM30 with me, she said, she wants to claim insurance, let's make a police report. I was like, "OMG! What have I done?!" It wasn't the first time I had an accident, but it would be my first time reporting to the police wey!

Ahem.. So, I passed my phone to her with my dad on the other side of the line. Suddenly, a traffic police stopped by, "leave the spot, the traffic had already congested enough, don't make it worse" kind of speech. She snapped my road tax sticker and demanded to see my IC and license (she wants to snap photo as well). I said, "let me snap the photos of your car first." Then, I quickly called my dad again and told him about her demand, and my dad said, "Who is she to see our IC and license? Only police has the right! Beside, who knows what does she have in mind after snapping your IC and license?"

So, as soon as the traffic police left, we exchanged our phone number and left the spot. According to my dad, she stays in Setia Alam, and we were going to meet her up at night to nego about the compensation. When I reached home, I just had my shower and skipped dinner because really didn't have any appetite for food. My dad was home late and we were one hour late than the time she proposed. Her husband didn't want to accept our terms, whereby, my dad promised to fix the bonnet for them. He wants monetary compensation of RM800 to change for a new bonnet! WTH!! A slight dent he wants to change a new one??! My dad tried to convince him the otherwise but to no avail. At the end, we agreed to make a police report and claim for insurance.

They are freaking greedy wey~~
My dad directed me the way to the police station located nearby the accident scene. It took us more than 45 minutes to reach there, and I was, hmm.. Not nervous, but felt numb. I didn't feel anything, my face expressionless, my heartbeat as usual. Seriously. I filled up the form, waited for the officer to call me and confirmed my description. Then, I had to let them snap a photo of my car as well. After all these had done, I reached home at around one in the midnight. Zzzzz..

Myvi is indeed slightly stronger than Viva.
Next time I should really buy a better car.
Luckily the car my bonnet kissed, wasn't some Japanese cars or European cars, eg Camry or BMW. Or else, I would have to compensate more. Wait, in terms of damage, I think my car would have lost the entire front part, whereby their cars would only have a few scratches.. Anyway, because of this accident, I realized my dad really loves me a lot. Though he appears to be very stringent on me, he sacrificed his sleep when he had an early meeting scheduled the next morning. I feel happy and I feel protected. Love you, ba. ❤

Sigh.. CNY is coming, hopefully I won't be so bad luck in this coming Horse year.
Singing off...

Deactivating My FB

Wanna know what was the first thing I did in 2014? Basically, I deactivated my FB account! Of course I posted some "hints" on my wall first lar, a few hours in prior. Wait, to be exact, that wasn't the FIRST thing. The first thing I did, was sleeping! Haha.. Ya, I was putting on my facial mask around 11.45pm, and wanted to deactivate it after I done with my mask. But who knows I fell asleep with the facial mask on, until 3 in the morning! Only then, I woke up and deleted my FB. A 15 minutes session became few hours wey. Luckily my face is still okay, no new pimples popping out yet. LOL

So, a few days before I deactivated my FB, I read lar, some "procedures" involved, some "warnings" given by FB to remind you that, whatever you shared will be gone etc etc. And I screen-captured this:
Wow, only these 5 people will miss me ar? Haha...
It was really a hard decision to make, seriously! Especially when you have someone in your friend list that you wish to always be able to be in-touch with. Especially the photo albums that would always make your mind swaying into the memory pool and try to revive some of the moments which you wish you could have them again in your life. Or, especially the contents in the chat box with some of your closest of friends, which would always make you laugh (ya, there were plenty of silly stuff that we talked about) whenever you read it through again, some of which might even make you break down into tears (in my case lar). It wasn't easy at all.

However, having the privilege to own a smartphone in the world today (compared to last time, whereby, no apps eg: Watsapp, WeChat etc to be downloaded) has really influenced my decision making. My friends may not be able to "find" me in FB, but for those who have my cell number, they could always look for me, be it via charged-channel (eg: SMS) or free-channel (eg: Watsapp). Though I've been thinking, "should I change my number too?", I think I'll still inform some of my buddies lar if I really decided so ;)

Okay, these were what I saw when I wanted to delete my FB account:
I wonder how does FB come out with this.
Is it by random, or based on the interaction you have with them. Hmm...
See? This is how we manage our assignments nowadays.
I wonder what happened to these groups now...
But, why are there TWO Int Trade Law? lol
To be honest, though I have already deleted my FB account, I still have another FB account to accommodate my primary school, high school and tuition friends. LOL... So yeah, from having two FB, I now only have one FB to manage, really save me a lot of time. Though it might not be fair for those in my Uni-FB, some closest of friends do have my blog link, so I think its still not that bad, at least they could still know about my recent encounters if they care to find out. And, to ease my adaptation to a life without a FB, I started using Twitter more frequently. But, not THAT frequent also lar, I have extremely LIMITED data plan :(

For those who wish to look for me via FB but to no avail, I'm very sorry for that. I know this is a drastic move but please understand that I have my own reasons for this. For those who have my mobile number, I'm glad that we could still get in touch any time we want :) For those who even have my blog link, OMG, you are one of the lucky ones. Hahaha...

'Till next post, cheers :D

Happy Birthday!

Well, this post is meant to be a dedication to a friend of mine, YT! :D So, I'm not gonna talk about what I've done in the past few days (I can't seem to remember how I spent my time in the first few days of New Year anyway.. lol).

Happy Birthday !!!
May happiness, health and wealth be of abundance in the years ahead :)

After having hard time deciding what present to buy for her, we went to have lunch together. (Note: lunch, movie, desert and present are all sponsored by both CT and me! Ahem ahem...) Guess where we had our lunch? Mc'D!! Haha.. Ya, simple and fast, because we were kinda rushing for the movie, 47 Ronin. But erm, seems like the movie was quite boring to YT that she almost fell asleep (though it appeared to us that the movie was not bad lar). LOL, paiseh paiseh.. We will choose a better movie next time. But what's the definition of "better" again? Haha...

So, here comes the gist of the day!
We passed her the birthday bag while waiting for our order.
See how happy she was? Hehe...
Epic expression, candid shot! ;)
Before unveiling the content, smile...
Muahahahaha :p
A shot of YT with our treat :)
Buddies since high school.. Yeah...
Fondue. RM66, a total of approximately RM77 at the end (incl taxes).
Because cutting cake for birthday is just too mainstream.. Haha..
You see? What has CT done to the Chocolate ice-cream?
Tsk tsk tsk tsk...
A feeble attempt to capture a sexy flame, I suppose?
Okay, I realized the importance of having a high pixel camera now. It feels so motivating to capture photos as opposed to using a phone camera. I'm not saying that all phones are not equipped with good camera, it depends on how you define the term "good". I mean, it seems so COOL to capture photos with pro-camera which, in a way, makes you look pro as well. LOL... Wanna know what feedbacks I got? Both my jimui and my best friend CT said, they are attracted by my camera and they have a sudden urge to own one as well. Haha... I would definitely say, "Go for it! It is worthy of your investment." :) (Suddenly I feel like a promoter for Sony Alpha.. Haha...) But seriously, my NEX is way cheaper than any DSLR. At the same time, I have the chance to buy other lenses as well if I wanted to (FYI, NEX is an inter-changeable lens camera). Ah, I just can't seem to be humble about how much I love Sony lar :p

Anyway, it was indeed a day well spent with high school friends again. Hope you enjoyed the day with us, YT. All the best in your future undertakings ya. And remember to share your thoughts with us after reading the book lor! Hahahaha... XD

'Till next post, cheers :D
