Seoul 6D5N: Nami Island (南怡岛)

Actually, we wanted to leave Myeong Dong by 9am after our breakfast, but then I was having serious stomach ache so the schedule was delayed a bit. Then we were having some troubles figuring how to get to Nami Island, so we took around 2 hours to reach the place. Great, who asked us didn't do proper research right?

So, here's the map:
Please open in new tab to enlarge.

Direction to Nami Island (南怡岛) from Myeong-dong (明洞) station:
1. Take Line 4 in the direction to Chungmuro (忠武路) Station;
2. Disembark at Dongdaemun History and Cultural Park Station;
3. Transit to Line 2, in the direction to Sindang Station;
4. Disembark at Wangsimni Station;
5. Transit to Jungang Line, in the direction to Cheongnyangni Station;
6. Disembark at Mangu Station;
7. Transit to Kyeongchun Line, in the direction to Galmae;
8. Disembark at Gapyeong Station.

I think this is by far the largest station that I came across in Korea.
It has around 8 platforms!
While we were waiting at don't know which station (my memory fails to recall.. aiks..), had nothing better to do so, selfie time XD

Got act cute a bit lar lol
When we finally arrived at Gapyeong Station, we needed to take a cab in order to reach the jeti to Nami Island, and the cab costed us KRW2,100 per person.

This is where you need to queue up for ferry tickets to reach Nami Island
According to the brochure, the ferry tickets (to-and-fro) is KRW8,000 per person.
As for us, we opted for this:

Zip Wire
It was KRW38,000 per person, including entry ticket to Nami Island, as well as ferry ticket to come back here from Nami Island. Recorded a video "flying" to the small island (I think it's called Jara Island if not mistaken) but have had no time to edit it yet. Anyway, will share it here once I've got time XD

I was quite excited lar when I got up to the tower, but the speed was rather disappointing in a way.. Hmmm..
A small ferry then picked us up from Jara Island to Nami Island and it took us like 5-10 minutes?

The entrance to Nami Island
* Sorry, my white balance setting seems a bit out *
Awww
There were quite a lot of couples renting bicycle and rode through all the couple-scenes captured in Winter Sonata. According to brochure, the price of renting bicycles are as follows:
Single seated: KRW3,000/30 minutes; KRW5,000/hour
Twin seated: KRW6,000/30 minutes; KRW10,000/hour

There are a lot of stone sculpture deco on the island.
They even have a song museum on the island!
You can find a lot of traditional musical instruments in there.
I wonder what are these ostriches doing there LOL
*Sorry for the over-exposed photo*
Ok lar, not bad lar, our flag is there lol
They have a children playground too.
Wood sculptures.
This was the place where we had our lunch:

I think the price quite reasonable lar (doesn't mean it's cheap though),
considering it's a tourist spot.
So thoughtful lar, use Nami Island map as place-mat.
I forget what was this called, but it was KRW9,000.
Alright then, let's show cast some art pieces that we managed to find on the island:

Here's the front view.
Kindly find the side view at my Seoul 6D5N: Itinerary post :D
Of course there are many more! You visit yourself to find out ya :p
Wants to know the weather in Seoul around middle of September? I'm pretty sure it's quite obvious in all these photos shared above. Here's another photo where we managed to capture the rainbow at the right place, at the right time :D

* Sorry, a bit over exposed, again *
See? The leaves were still looking green ~~
Do you know that Nami Island is also a Unicef Child Friendly Park? :D
We spend like, 4-5 hours on Nami Island but still didn't manage to visit each and every corner of it. I think you would need one day? If you really wish to have your time wander around and enjoy the environment. Oh well, especially if you are going with your other half? Haha

This was the ferry included in our Zip-Wire package. Don't under estimate the size oh,
it could easily fit 70-80 people!
When we reached back the mainland, we passed through these few rows of shops
in order catch a cab.
You could catch a cab at the Taxi Stop located in front of the 7-11 store, which is located on your left.
The cab which cost KRW2,100 per person will then send you here, the Gapyeong Station,
the journey was less than 10km only I think.
I think we waited at the station for around 1 hour because we missed the train that we were supposed to embark! Need to brush up my skills on reading maps already!

See how hot the weather was?
So yeah, that was our Nami Trip in general.
Ending my post here with one of my favourite shots:

Stay tuned for next post :D
